The term has gone so fast. It definitely didn’t feel like eight weeks. We’ve done so many things and had so many great times.
- Coding was fun. Making games was interesting and we learnt a lot from coding. We got in groups that we picked, that had the same idea and we negotiated on what type of game we were going to make. To program we used the computer programming website called Scratch and we learnt how to make sprites move, to use colour detection and to make levels. Every group is making a maze-like game except one.
- We first started our first swimming lesson with 3/4T. We got to test how good we are at swimming but one person (That’s me! – Kevin) missed out testing their swimming skills because they forgot their swimming clothes on the first day. Leo and Kelsey made it into regionals (the second round of the swimming carnival). Clap clap clap… well done guys!
- 4/5F worked on narratives. Some narratives were really well done and amazing! We did drafts. We also worked on Popplet for our planning and we worked bit by bit to do our orientation, events, climax and conclusion. Our techniques were hyperbole (hi-per-boll-lee), similes, adjectives, metaphors, personification and imagery, to name a few.
- On the second last day of term one (today!) we got to wear casual clothes. We had to bring a gold coin donation for the Good Friday Appeal which supports children who are in the Royal Children’s Hospital. Here’s a link to the website if you want to donate.
Next term for Deep Learning, our teacher said something about “food” so 4/5F is guessing what we are doing. To be continued next term…
